Trilithic Launches Hosted Solution for Leakage Analysis Workshop (LAW)
Full service solution provides backend process automation for Seeker GPS Integrated System. Provides breakthrough quadrangulation technology and automated work-order management.
INDIANAPOLIS, IN, February 20, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Trilithic Inc. announced its Network Services division is now providing hosted services for the Leakage Analysis Workshop (LAW), the proprietary software application developed for the Seeker GPS Integrated Leakage System, LAW provides sophisticated database management, GPS tracking, map operations, work order generation and the many other functions needed for keeping leakage outbreaks under control.
Until now when an operator equipped his vehicles with the Seeker GPS system he either purchased an integrated LAW server from Trilithic or set up and maintained the server on his own resources. With the introduction of Hosted LAW, the operator now has a third option.
Trilithic's Hosted Solution makes it unnecessary for the operator to purchase or set up his own LAW server. All of his leakage management processes, including data refinement, record keeping and communications can be provided by a server facility managed by Trilithic Network Services. Bank-like security, hardware and communications redundancy and offsite data backup services are provided for a monthly fee on a discount schedule that fits the economics of both small and large operators. IT hardware is kept at pace with expanded processing needs by Trilithic Network Services in the event an operator's need for processing expands.
"Particularly in today's economy, we feel it's important to offer all of our customers access to the newest and most efficient technology -- technology that helps them work smarter and more cost-efficiently," said Terry Bush, Trilithic President and co-founder. "By providing a hosted solution, we can now serve those customers in need of lowered capital investments and pay-as-you-go pricing."
About The Seeker GPS System
LAW works in conjunction with both Trilithic's leakage detectors, the Seeker and Seeker BB-2, placed in cable fleet vehicles to detect signal leaks. Flexible communications allow data from the vehicle fleet to be uploaded to the operator's LAW server or to the Hosted Service via Internet or Wi-Fi. It's then analyzed using quadrangulation technology -- an innovative solution that can gauge the true strength of cable leaks from a distance and pinpoint their true location to within with 10 feet.
After leaks are identified and prioritized, the system automatically assigns work orders to responsible technicians -- delivering both maps and detailed instructions via email. When repairs are completed, technicians report back into the system and the work orders are automatically closed out. The only supervisor intervention required is for mandated FCC filings.
In keeping with its think ahead business philosophy, Trilithic began planning for the new hosted service offering early last year and was able to bring the plan to fruition with the acquisition of a managed IT solutions provider, welcomed into the company as Trilithic Network Services.
The division will provide comprehensive hosting and maintenance for LAW, including software installation and updates, hardware provision, data security and 24/7 support. Bush said Trilithic expects the customized, flexible service options and pricing will work exceptionally well for cable operators that don't have the available capital or IT resources to expend on additional infrastructure.
